RX no longer exists

Occasionally prescribers are told a drug does NOT exit when they attempt to renew a medication on the patient’s list. For example, a pulmonary clinic find an Advair formulation could not be renewed.

ANY drug manufacture change (e.g. a different table color or sustained release form, etc.) is a totally unique item to EHR, and it concludes that the old formulation disappeared off the face of the earth.

Therefore, when this happens, right click and “complete” that medication (so it moves to the past med list).Do NOT choose “Renew” or “Edit.”

Start a new prescription for the formulation you now have available to use.
