Overview

This page will cover the various components of a Results Interface into Allscripts. Results are commonly lab and radiology results.

Order Matching

Results can tie back to existing orders within Allscripts. This allows the orders to complete. This is setup with each interface deployed at a particular group. Check with your Interface Analyst to see which, if any, are used on your results interfaces.

There are a few ways that results can match back:

  • Order Number - the Order Number EXT generated from Allscripts is sent back with the results. The Order Number is tied directly to a specific order - a specific CBC order in a patient's chart.
  • Requisition Number - the Req Number EXT generated from Allscripts is sent back with the results. The Requisition Number is tied one or more orders - all orders on a single requisition. A requisition is defined by the Patient, Encounter, Performing Location and Ordering Provider.
  • Non-generated External ID - This is an ID provided by the system you are sending orders to (LIS, RIS, etc). This requires an inbound order update interface to associate the Non-Generated External ID to the order, as well as the linkage in the results interface.
