Appointment Types are sent over the Reg/Sched interface and appear on a provider's schedule in the EHR. In v10 of Touchworks, the Appointment Type is populated by the code value, not the description/name. If the appointment type codes in the PMS have no particular meaning, the PMS code can be mapped into a newly created Touchworks code, allowing the user to have a visual cue regarding the appointment type. Otherwise, there is not a work around to how this field displays as it is driven by the developed coding. Appointment Types can either be built in the EHR manually or via the Bulk Load process. If the codes need to be mapped, a mapping schema will need to be developed.
