EMR Committee

Now that there will be a new EHR deployed which can potentially affect not only entire physician networks, but multiple disciplines of patient care there should be effective forums for discussion and collaborative decision making. These types of entities sometimes include physician advisory councils, clinical IT committees, and potentially many other types of provider sub-committees.

Issues that may typically flow from these types of committees include:

• System changes that may impact patient care
• Workflow or clinic process standardization
• Other clinical IT initiatives that have the potential to impact the EHR
