Description

The ARIC Coronary Heart Disease Risk assessment tool uses information from the ARIC stud. It is designed for adults, 45-65 years old, who do not have heart disease to predict the patient’s chance of having a heart attack in the next 10 years.

Total Cholesterol Results Patient's total cholesterol in mg/dL
HDL Cholesterol Results Patient’s high density lipoprotein count
Smoking Status Problems Patient’s smoking status
Diabetes Problems Patient’s diabetes status
Blood Pressure Medication Medications Whether or not the patient is current taking

medication to control their blood pressure

10 Year Risk Result The patient’s risk of heart attack within the next ten years
Average 10 Year Risk Result The average risk of heart attacke within the next ten years for a person of this gender, race, and age
