Description

The purpose of the Breast Cancer Risk tool is to estimate a woman’s risk of developing invasive breast cancer.


Calculator Search/Filter Keywords

At the calculator level, eCalcs comes delivered with default keywords that can be leveraged in the "Search/Filter" field to enable Specialty or System driven calculator searching. The following calculator keywords are delivered by default for the Breast Cancer Risk calculator:

Calculator Configuration Options

Preference Name Valid Range Description
Publishing Checked / Unchecked When checked the calculator will display for users on the front end.
When unchecked, the calculator WILL NOT display for users on the front end.
Orderable Item Override (BLANK) / G-BreastCa “(BLANK)” indicates that the global configuration options for Orderable Item will be used.
“G-BreastCa” indicates that the calculator specific value will be used and can display the specific calculator name in the output.


Calculator Inputs

Input Mapping Type Description
History of breast cancer or of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS) or has received previous radiation therapy to the chest for treatment of Hodgkin lymphoma Problems Patient’s history of breast cancer, or ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS)
Has mutation in either the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene or a diagnosis of a genetic syndrome that may be associated with elevated risk of breast cancer Problems Patient's status for mutation in BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene or diagnosis of genetic syndrome that elevates break cancer risk
Age Demographics Patient's age
Race/Ethnicity Demographics Patient's Race and Ethnicity status
Ever had a breast biopsy Results Patient has had a biopsy
Age at time of first menstrual period Manual Input Patient's age at time of first menstrual period
Age at first live birth Manual Input Patient has had atypical hyperplasia
Number of first-degree relatives (mother, sisters, daughters) who have had breast cancer Problems Immediate family history of breast cancer
