MEDITECH Discharge Routine

Discharge can begin at admission with the MEDITECH discharge routine functionality. It is an interdisciplinary workflow that allows clinician that participates in the patients care to contribute. Pertinent items that need to be completed during the discharge routine include; entering at least one 'current visit' problem into the problem list, computerized physician order entry (CPOE) as well as other instructions electronically, discharge medication reconcilliation and the finalization of orders/documentation for printing. Keep in mind that nursing cannot print the discharge packet until the Rx/Orders are finalized.
