There are three types of patient education.

1. The primary "Patient Education" is delivered as a component of careguides. If you are not using careguides you do not have acess to this information.

2. You can add ad-hoc patient education where a provider types in some instructions and prints them out to hand to a patient.

3. You can connect patient instructions to a specific orderable item in the orderable item dictionary. These are found under the OID -> Non-Medication -> Instructions

Patient Instructions include:

  • Instructions (includes items such as activity, behavioral guidance, diet, etc.)
  • Precautions (includes items such as Call, Emergent, and Urgent)
