The Results Concept Dictionary (RCD) is an Allscripts list of common resultables returned on lab results.  This would be a list of items such as White Blood Count (WBC), Hemoglobin, or Platelets.  When you load you lab vendors resultables and tie them to the RCD, it allows the system to interpret them as the same items.  This is especially useful when you have multiple vendors as it will allow you to flow the same result from multiple vendors on the same line.

If you choose not to map Resultable items to the RCD, but you would like to flow items from multiple vendors you can use the link within a specific Resultable item in the RID called "Considered equivalent for only flowsheet graph".  This will allow you to make resultable items equivalent for flowing.

Description

The Results Concept Dictionary (RCD) is an Allscripts list of common resultables returned on lab results. This would be a list of items such as White Blood Count (WBC), Hemoglobin, or Platelets. When you load you lab vendors resultables and tie them to the RCD, it allows the system to interpret them as the same items. This is especially useful when you have multiple vendors as it will allow you to flow the same result from multiple vendors on the same line.
