Configuring General Internet Explorer Options
- Allscripts recommended settings
- Open Internet Explorer, Select: Tools > Internet Options
- On General tab > Temporary Internet files:
- click Settings (located under browsing history for IE7)
- set the option for “Check for newer versions of stored pages:” to “Automatic”
- Save your new configuration by clicking Apply and OK
- Install the ActiveX controls for AE-EHR per your preferred method – Push Technology strongly suggested
Configuring Advanced Internet Explorer Options
- Open Internet Explorer, Select: Tools > Internet Options
- On Advanced tab, click Restore Defaults
- Ensure “Enable third-party browser extensions” is checked
- Ensure “Use smooth scrolling” is unchecked (for performance reasons)
- Uncheck "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"
- Optional:
- Uncheck “Disable script debugging”
- Uncheck “Show friendly HTTP error messages”
Note: Optional settings are helpful in troubleshooting problems/errors within AE-EHR
Add AE-EHR URL(s) to Trusted Sites
- Open Internet Explorer, Select: Tools > Internet Options
- Click on the Security Tab and select Trusted Sites
- Click Sites
- Type in your AE-EHR URL and click Add
- Click Close
