V11 Security Codes

• Authorize Non Formulary Prescribing: This is assigned to users who can authorize a non-formulary medication. This authorization is required in the ‘Prescribe Non Formulary Authorization Req’ gate is set to ‘Y’.
• Break Glass: If given this code, allows users to override document viewing security.
• Can Prescribe: This allows users to prescribe medication within the TouchWorks application. Users given this code without the appropriate level of prescribing authority can start a prescription to be authorized by the ordering physician.
• Can Renew: If given this code, allows users to renew a medication. A user with ‘Can Renew’, but not ‘Can Prescribe’ will not be able to alter a medication dosage.
• Can Reprint/Resend RX: Controls the ability to print subsequent copies of a previously printed perscription or to resend a prescription electronically to a pharmacy.
• CanCSInvalid: When assigned to a user this code allows the user to invalidate RTF clinical summaries and visit summary CED's. The user must also have the Chart-Edit security code.
• Chart-Alert-Edit: If given this code, allows the user to edit a Chart Alert. This may be something like “contact precaution” and are visible to all users who are give ‘Chart Alert View’.
• Chart-Alert-View: If given this code, allows the user to view a chart alert.
• CDSExcludeOneProv: Enables users to exclude patients from Point of Care (POC)recommendations only for the provider who owns the recommendation.
• CDSSuppress: Enables users to suppress Point of Care (POC)recommendations.
• Chart-Edit: If given this code, allows user to edit patient charts.
• Chart Download: Permits the download of a patient chart through Download Chart.
• Chart-Print: If given this code, allows the user to print or fax individual documents from the patient chart.
• Chart-Print Chart: If given this code, allows the user to print the ENTIRE patient chart with the Print Chart button.
• Chart-Print Chart-Set System Templates: If given this code, allows the user to set the system templates in the Print Chart button.
• Chart-View: If given this code, allows the user to view patient chart information.
• Chart Viewer View Edit: If given this code, allows the user to edit their chart views (Chart Viewer). A user who does not have this code will be able to switch between their assigned views, but not edit them.
• Clinical Desktop View-Edit: If given this code, allows the user to edit their clinical desktop views. A user not given this code will be able to switch between the clinical desktop views assigned to them, but not be able to edit any.
• Clinical Administration: This is inactive V11.
• CMS Application: This is inactive in V11
• CMS Configuration: This is inactive in V11
• Confidential Patients: Must be assigned this to see confidential patients flagged in the PMS.
• CQS Access: Permits access to Clinical Quality Solution (CQS)
• Controlled Substances: This is no longer active V11.
• Dictate Monitor Administration: Any TouchWorks user can log in and use Dictate Monitor, but those given the security code Dictate Monitor Administration will be able to see any dictations. Those without the code will only be able to see their dictations. This is enforced by the database and CANNOT be turned off.
• Dictionaries: This is inactive in V11.
• Doc Change: Limits the amount of change to a document type. Document types with this code can be viewed by all users, but edited only by the owner.
• Doc Change Shared: Limits the amount of change to a document type. Document types with this code can be viewed by all users, but only edited by those within the same Security Classification. This is enforced by the database and CANNOT be turned off.
• Document-Invalidate: This allows the user to invalidate a note. If turned off the user will not be able to invalidate in any of these areas: ChartViewer, Note, Document, Completion Tasks, and Manage Document.
• Document-Invalidate-Without-Finalization-Authority: When assigned, irrespective of the Finalization Authority level of the user (compared to the Finalization Authorityof the Note) the user can Invalidate the Note.
• Document-Management: Allows the user to make changes to existing notes outside the “note life cycle”.
• Document-Reconcile: Allows the user to correct errors of inbound unstructured notes.
• Employee & Family Patient Access: Forces users without access to a patient entered in a security group to enter a password in order to view this patient’s chart.
• Enterprise Administration: This is no longer active in V11.
• EReply: Allows users to send messages to patients through Allscripts Patient Portal.
• Interface Error Queue Edit: Allows you to edit information on the Error Queue page as well as pages accessed from that page including Message details page, the Bridge Details page and the Change MRN Details page.
• Interface Error Queue View: Allows you to view but not edit information on the Error Queue page as well as pages accessed from that page including Message details page, the Bridge Details page and the Change MRN Details page.
• Med Order Protocol: Allows users to select “By Protocol” for a medication order that they do not have authority for (i.e. a level II drug) without needing to send an “Authorize Order” task to the prescribing physician.
• Non-Med Order Protocol: Allows users to select “By Protocol” for a non-medication order that they do not have ordering authority for without needing to send an “Authorize Order” task to the prescribing physician.
• Note-View Edit: Allows the user to edit their note views. Users not given this code will not be able to edit their note views, but will be able to switch between the views they have been assigned.
• Order Billable ICD-10: Controls tha ability to run this report.
• Order-Edit: No longer available as of v17
• Order Edit - Findings: Enables you to edit existing Findings orders.
• Order Edit - Follow Up: Enables you to edit existing Follow Up orders.
• Order Edit - Immunizations: Enables you to edit existing Immunization orders.
• Order Edit - Instructions: Enables you to edit existing Instruction orders.
• Order Edit - Laboratory: Enables you to edit existing Laboratory orders.
• Order Edit - Precautions: Enables you to edit existing Precautions orders.
• Order Edit - Procedure: Enables you to edit existing Procedure orders.
• Order Edit - Radiology: Enables you to edit existing Radiology orders.
• Order Edit - Referrals: Enables you to edit existing Referrals orders.
• Order Edit - Supplies: Enables you to edit existing Supplies orders.
• Order Hx - Findings: Enables you to document the order history of Findings orders.
• Order Hx - Follow Up: Enables you to document the order history of Follow Up orders.
• Order Hx - Immunizations: Enables you to edit existing of Immunization orders.
• Order Hx - Instructions: Enables you to document the order history of Instruction orders.
• Order Hx - Laboratory: Enables you to document the order history of Laboratory orders.

• Override Absolute Contraindication: Permits a user to override an Absolute Contraindication DUR alert.
• Override Do Not Release Order: Enables the provider to modify the Do Not Release check box for orders where the orderable item in the OID has the Do Not Release Flag set either to Always Release - User Can Override or Do Not Release - User can Override.
• Organizational Queries: This is no longer active in V11.
• Patient Profile Edit: If given this code, the user is able to edit the patient profile.
• Patient Report Exempt Edit: Allows users to mark patient as exempt or excluded from reports.
• Patient Tracking Board Edit Security: Permits editing of the Patient Tracking Board
• Patient Tracking Board View Security: Permits viewing of the Patient Tracking Board
• Personal Queries: This is inactive in V11.
• PMT Access:Grants users access to the Problem Mapping Tool (PMT)
  • [Note: This security code is only available on Allscripts Enterprise EHR systems with a successfully completed PMT server-side installation. New Allscripts Enterprise EHR 11.4 clients will not see this code since problem mapping is not required.]
• PMT Administration:Grants users access to the Problem Mapping Tool (PMT) to perform all mapping activities, and grants the ability to perform administrative functions within PMT such as running a frequency program, importing an Allscripts mapping file, and configure problem search location.

• Preceptor Note Edit: Enables users to add the Preceptor Note section to the note currently open in the Note Authoring workspace, add forms to that section, open and edit Preceptor Note of the note, and edit information in Preceptor Note on the Note Accumulator pane of the Note Authoring workspace.
• Print Queue Reroute Chart Item: Allows to re-route chart item jobs in TouchWorks. This gate is enforced through the database and CANNOT be turned off.
• Print Queue Reroute Rx: Allows to re-route Rx jobs within Touchworks. This gate is enforced through the database and CANNOT be turned off.
• Print Queue View Chart Item: Allows to view chart item jobs with TouchWorks. This gate is enforced through the database and CANNOT be turned off.
• Print Queue View Coversheet: Allows to view coversheet jobs in TouchWorks. This gate is enforced through the database and CANNOT be turned off.
• Print Queue View Rx: Allows user to view Rx jobs in TouchWorks. That gate is enforced through the database and CANNOT be turned off.
• Psychiatric: This is inactive in V11.
• Recommendation Edit: Controls the ability for the user to select the following context menu options for the recommendations in Encounter Summary: Addressed, Send Recommendation Comments, and Don't Show Me Again.
• Recommendation View: Controls the ability for the user to view recommendations for the patient in Encounter Summary.

• View Report ? Outstanding Orders: Controls the ability to view the outstanding report order.
• VIP Patient Access Security Code: If a user is trying to access a patient whom they do not have access to they will be required to enter a password to continue.
• Worklist Admin: Allows user to administer Worklist views for other users.
• Worklist View-Edit: Allows the user to edit their assigned worklist views. Users not given their code will be able to switch between their assigned views, but not edit their worklist views.
• Workspace View Edit – This is inactive in V11.
