Q. Why does the provider not show up in the dropdown?

About once a month we have providers that "mysteriously" disappear from the ordering provider dropdown when prescribing a medication. This is because those provider's licenses have expired.


A. The proactive approach is to have the individuals that keep up with credentialing include the appropriate EHR analysts in the loop to let them know when DEA numbers and state license numbers are updated to keep the system current. Another alternative is to run a report once a month that lets you know which ones will be expiring and then contact those individuals to get the updated information.
