Galen is excited that you're coming to Atlanta for #ERUG16! Our Consultants have traveled the country, and they have put together some of their favorite things to do and see in and around Atlanta. At Galen, we strongly believe in sharing our success and giving back to our community. One of our driving tenets is “Perpetually Learn and Share”. Places to See

The World of Coca-Cola - If pop culture is your thing, or the culture of pop anyway, you won’t want to miss the World of Coca Cola, a whole museum dedicated to the history of the soda and a tribute to the power of brand marketing. ProTip: Purchase your tickets online or on your mobile device to skip the ticketing line when you arrive.

Senoia, GA – If Zombies are more your cup of tea, then it is worth making the 40 minute trip from Atlanta to Senoia, GA to visit one of the filming locations for ‘’’the walking dead.’’’ Senoia is the set for the fictitious town of Woodbury. This blog has a couple tips and tricks for a side trip to Senoia.

The Georgia Aquarium – is in the heart of downtown Atlanta and offers a discounted rate for admission after 5pm on weeknights. Be sure to buy your ticket online in advance eto get the special price.

Good Eats

The Varsity claims to be the world’s largest drive-in restaurant and has been in operation since 1928. The World's Largest Drive-in sits on more than two acres and can accommodate 600 cars and over eight hundred people inside. On days of Georgia Tech football games up to 30,000 people visit The Varsity. It sells more than two miles of hotdogs daily, a ton of onion rings, 2500 pounds of fresh cut potatoes, 5000 homemade fried pies, and 300 gallons of chili, all of which are made from scratch daily. The downtown Varsity is also the world's largest single outlet for Coca-Cola.

The Sun Dial Restaurant - For a complete view of the Atlanta Skyline and a dinner a little on the fancier side – make reservations at the Sun Dial. This restaurant is on the top floors of the Westin Peachtree Plaza and features floor to ceiling windows to take in the view, as well as making one full rotation every hour, so as not to get dizzy, but to slowly take in the entire skyline as you eat.

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q – Can you really come to the south and not get some BBQ? That just wouldn’t be right. One of our consultants especially recommends the Fox-A-Roni for a side.

South City Kitchen - This listing comes at the reccomendation from @JennHIStalk with the comment that they have the best Shrimp & Grits in town. My mouth is watering already...

Ray’s In the City – An award winning menu with an emphasis on fresh fish flown in daily from the Atlantic and Pacific, house-cut chops, prime steaks and extensive wine offerings from around the world. What’s not to love about that? A great place to unwind after a long working day!

Alma Cocina – A refreshing new approach to modern Mexican and Latin cuisine, utilizing bright, fresh ingredients in a variety of vibrant fresh dishes. Oh and their unique tequila selections make for a superior margarita!

Watering Holes

The Vortex – Locally owned and fiercely independent bar and restaurant, The Vortex has been winning “Best Burger in Atlanta” awards since 1992.

Polaris – Atlanta’s fabulous rotating lounge located in the Hyatt Regency. Serving a nightly selection of handcrafted specialty cocktails that celebrate the Golden Age of spirits and libations against stunning panoramic views of the city skyline.

WETBAR – Atlanta's only all-weather rooftop pool bar, conveniently located in the same hotel as the conference! Sip after you dip around the partially covered zero-edge pool and soak up the panoramic city views with one of their signature cocktails.

Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Girll & Brewery – Georgia’s oldest brewery restaurant complete with a garden patio, award-winning fresh brewed beers, and located right in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. Getting Around

Atlanta Streetcar – A 2.7 mile loop that connects Centennial Olympic Park with the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site as well as nearby neighborhoods east of downtown. The city’s newest transportation option offers a clean, fast, easy alternative for visitors and commuters trying to navigate Atlanta’s downtown corridor.

MARTA – Makes getting around Atlanta quick and easy, with modes of transportation including trains, buses and para-transit vehicles. Purchase a Breeze Card, load it with however many trip or days you need and be on your way! MARTA makes getting around Atlanta affordable with round trip airport to hotel fare costing just $5!
