Exploding Sets Configuration

• Combination of Diagnoses, Visit Charges and Procedure Charges
• Both the ICD9 Diagnosis and Charge Code dictionaries must be loaded prior to creating Exploding Sets
• Exploding Sets is a quick way to apply multiple codes all at once to an encounter form
• Consider using for Pediatric Immunizations, Cardiology Procedures, Orthopedic Procedures and Injections
• Some PMS support exploding codes within the PMS

Implementation Tips:

• The IC typically builds a few exploding sets directly in TWAdmin/ Group Admin/ Exploding Sets
• The client should assist with the build for multiple sets to assure solid system administration knowledge
• SSMT Categories are available to move the built lists from Test to Live or another environment − Exploding Sets Category
