In the order details screen there is an option to Print Additional Copy next to the Communication Method Dropdown box.
Q: How is the default for this checkbox set?
A: The default for that checkbox is defaulted by the Communication Method and the default cannot be changed (as of 11.1.7).
If the Communication Method is "Send to Performing Location then box is default to checked.
If the Communication Method is any other option the the box default is not checked.
