Definition
To dictate is to speak aloud and/or record with the intention of another transcribing the information into a medical note in a patient's chart.
Description
The Allscripts Dictate module provides features and advantages that allow the physician to complete dictations on patients without needing to be near a phone. The Dictate module has the ability to send digital dictation files to remote transcriptionists and 3rd party vendors, holds more than 3 hours of recording time, can incorporate custom dictation templates, custom reports, Scheduling/Practice Management system interface, and hold dictations.[1]
Dictate also offers the capability to incorporate dictation markers into a structured note. The voice files generated by the dictation markers can either be routed internally to the Winscribe module or sent to remote transcriptionists and 3rd party vendors.
